Love can be understood in many ways. In the teachings of the Brahma Kumaris, love is considered one of the soul’s original qualities, alongside peace, power, purity, and contentment. It is a natural state of appreciation, kindness, and care for all living beings. Love may be expressed through deep bonds between people, devotion to family, compassion for animals, appreciation of nature, or connection with the Divine.
I once had the honour of presenting a workshop on “Positive Justice” at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Toronto, Canada. The central idea was that, rather than responding to wrongdoing with hatred or resentment, we can choose compassion and understanding so that healing and transformation become possible. Imagine the impact if, instead of hatred toward world leaders, we offered goodwill and sincere hope that their hearts may be guided toward what is right.
Love is an intangible yet deeply felt force. Though it cannot be measured, it can be experienced whenever we recognise the highest qualities in others and consciously choose to focus on them.
