Exploring the personal, political, and poetic dimensions of ‘home’. this dynamic public forum featured artists from HOME 25: Invisible Cities, alongside local leaders, activists and thinkers.
This thought-provoking forum was moderated by Yolngu woman of the Galpu Clan from Northeast Arnhem land, Leila Gurruwiwi, featuring Uncle Mark Brown (Bunurong and Gunditjmara) and Candy Bowers. Through three interconnected parts—Art, Memory and Desire—the forum offered space for critical reflection and imaginative possibility.
The Interfaith Network was part of session two: memory.
This session explored how memory shapes identity and community—locally and globally. The session will be facilitated by Leila Gurruwiwi including representatives from local and cultural organisations. Uncle Mark Brown from Bunurong Land Council Aboriginal Corporation (BLCAC) Abbas Amiry from the Refugee Centre, Naomi Paterson from Cornerstone and Livia Carusi from the Interfaith Network.
The forum was deeply moving and the stories shared incredibly powerful. Thank you to all involved in the organization of this event, the presenters for their openness and to the audience for being curious and in making the event enjoyable for all!
