Places of Worship Tours

A learning and connection experience like no other!

In collaboration with our Faith and Spiritual Leaders, the Interfaith Network offers a unique opportunity to visit local Places of Worship and connect with a Faith Leader and, or a Community Member from the visited place of Worship with the aim of discovering and learning something new of their:
  • Values,
  • Beliefs,
  • Practices, and the
  • Service and work undertaken within their local communities.
 

Places of Worship Public Tour August 2024

During our public tour, deepening our understanding at Wat Khmer Buddhist Temple with Monk Venerable Sen, experiencing the serene practices of Buddhism and its spiritual teachings.
Part of our public tour, exploring rich traditions at St. Kilda Hebrew Congregation with Rabbi Yakkov, gaining insights into the vibrant heritage of the Jewish faith.

Tour Options

In response to our local community, the IFN offers the following Places of Worship Tour Options:

School Tours

These Tours are offered throughout the year; bookings are essential, and the Tours are open to Primary and Secondary Schools within the City of Greater Dandenong.  Our School Tours are often connected to the year and or subject curriculum as well as student development and growth.

Public Tours

These Tours are offered throughout the year; bookings are essential, and the Tours are open to all! The Public Tours for the remainder of 2024 are:

  • Wednesday 12th February 2025
  • Saturday 10th May 2025
  • Wednesday 13th August 2025
  • Wednesday 12th November 2025

Public Tour Ticket Costs

  • For non-Concession Card holders, the ticket cost is $38.00 per person.
  • For Concession Card holders, the ticket cost is $25.00 per person.
  • The ticket cost includes your transportation to each Place of Worship visited.

Public Tour Departure and Return Information

Public Tours will commence and end at the Interfaith Network office.

Our location is Level 1, 39 Clow Street, Dandenong.

In advance of the Public Tour, you will be provided with departure and other useful information ensuring an enjoyable Tour!

Specialized Tours

These Tours are customised to reflect the unique requirements for a specific group, including:
  • Sporting Groups,
  • Services Groups and Clubs,
  • Education Institutions,
  • Local Businesses,
  • Governance Groups, including Boards, Committees of Management, Elected Officials, and their Staff, including Local, State and Federal Government,
  • Peak Bodies and Industry Groups,
  • Organizations delivering social programs, services, and
  • Organisation’s wanting to offer a unique experience for staff, volunteers, and management as part of their commitment to organisational, team and professional development.
As these Tours are customised, we can also build in other features to maximise the experience of attendees, including keynote speakers, and subject to the timing of the Tour, morning or afternoon tea or lunch.

IFN Staff and Volunteer Tour Guides

Our IFN Staff and Volunteer Tour Guides are highly committed, experienced, and skilled individuals.  In addition, our IFN Staff and Volunteers also hold a current Working with Children Check and have attended relevant Child Safe Training.

      Future Changes

      Over the coming months, IFN will be launching an online Booking, Registration and Payment System for all our Tour Options. Where required, the option to invoice will continue to be provided.
